Virginia Standards History
The Virginia Board of Education did not adopt the Standards, and is not a member of the consortium. The state announced they were "committed to the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) program and opposed to adopting theCommon Core State Standards. A side-by-side evaluation done by the state found that the Standards of Learning were "generally aligned" with Common Core.
