Project Manager, K-12 Curriculum Review

EdGate is looking for a seasoned project manager to direct multiple content review workstreams for Math. The project manager will oversee a team of subject matter experts reviewing K-12 curriculum.

Position Duties:

  • The project manager will own and lead the entire curriculum review process.
  • Oversee individual review work streams, in various stages of completion, over multiple rounds, to project completion.
  • Serve as liaison between reviewers, state agency, and content providers
  • Run, convene, and manage review groups for content revision and adoption.
  • Adhere to the review process designed by client and collaborate with materials review team.
  • Establish suitability and IMRA rubrics with objective criteria that ensures consistency with intended outcomes and facilitate rubric calibration.
  • Collaborate with client to design and revise product roadmaps.
  • Rapidly scale up at peak times and scale down at peak times.
  • Measure and monitor the success of the project and each product, including quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
  • Provide quality assurance and continuous improvement training for all reviewers to ensure consistent high-quality reviews are delivered.
  • Utilize technology systems, processes and/or tools effectively to enhance and expedite content review such as Project Management software, like MS Project or other.
  • Provide proactive and sophisticated project management and communication with the Client and instructional materials vendors.
  • Measure and monitor the success of work across all workstreams.
  • Ensure projects remain on schedule, on budget, and create risk mitigation strategies.
  • Manage and coordinate review staff team and/or contractors who will be performing the following tasks:
    • Providing third party high quality instructional materials review and approval (IMRA) using rubrics.
    • Providing third party suitability reviews using rubrics.
    • Providing knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards
    • Providing knowledge of the Multilingual Learners
    • Review alignments to English language proficiency standards (ELPS)
    • Review of Spanish translation accuracy
    • Review of Spanish transadaptation accuracy
    • Reviewing the alignment of Open Educational Resources (OER) content to K-12 standards
    • Providing validation of state standards coverage to support the alignment needs of state departments of education
    • Perform gap analysis and make recommendations for reducing gap
  • Train and retrain as needed instructional materials reviewers on the review rubric content and functionality.
  • Attend internal meetings to support information on project progress
  • Use EdGate’s internal administrative tools.
  • Work directly with client as the lead project manager and client liaison.
  • Coordinate with lead EdGate production manager and EdGate staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or relevant field from an accredited institution required
  • Proven leadership in instructional materials review or curriculum development
  • Minimum 7 years of proven experience managing cross-functional teams and review cycles
  • Ability to successfully manage complex projects
  • Use agile project planning to supervise content projects through development
  • Strong stakeholder communication and executive reporting skills
  • Minimum ten years classroom instruction in math
  • Expert knowledge of IMRA requirements and suitability rubrics
  • Expert knowledge of educational curriculum standards, frameworks, learning objectives and standards alignment
  • Proficiency in Smartsheets, scheduling tools, project dashboards, and collaborative platforms
  • Demonstrated technical experience with knowledge/application of Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on MS Excel.
  • Minimum 7 years of proven experience working in EdTech, E-Learning, or educational curriculum publishing.
  • Knowledge of hierarchical data structures
  • Ability to work independently to complete projects and work as part of a team
  • Ability to anticipate problems, identify workable alternatives, and communicate effectively to achieve a desirable outcome
  • Detail-oriented
  • Maintain established production schedule and meet identified timelines for each project i.e. number of items per hour or number of lesson plans per week

  • Adhere to Cybersecurity Best Practices

Desired Skills:

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management certification
  • Bilingual professional fluent in English and Spanish
  • Texas classroom instruction
  • Familiarity with digital review platforms and workflow tools
  • Content development expertise
  • Master of Education (MEd)
